Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has announced a new burial arrangements for Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in a hospital in London.

Garba Shehu, a media aide to the late former President, had earlier announced that the body would arrive in Nigeria for burial on Monday.

But speaking at a press briefing on Monday, Governor Radda stated that after consultations with the late president’s family and close associates in London, it was agreed that the remains of the former leader would arrive in Katsina on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, by noon.

He added that the burial would take place in Daura, Buhari’s hometown, at 2pm on the same day.

Radda expressed his deep condolences to the family of the late president on behalf of himself, the Katsina State Government, and the people of the state, while also extending sympathies to all Nigerians mourning the passing of a national icon.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway to facilitate the release of Buhari’s body from the London hospital
