In the vibrant tapestry of Nigeria’s development story, few individuals stand out as boldly as Chief Akinwumi Peter Akinfenwa, fondly known as Sir Akinwumi. A respected professional, seasoned administrator, visionary entrepreneur, and community influencer, Sir Akinwumi is a shining example of what dedication, integrity, and visionary leadership can achieve across both public and private spheres.

 

An Academic Foundation Rooted in Excellence

 

A proud alumnus of Oriwu College, Ikorodu, and the Federal School of Arts and Science, Victoria Island, Sir Akinwumi began his academic journey with strong roots in discipline and academic rigour. He earned his first degree from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University and went on to complete a Master of Business Administration (MBA), equipping him for the challenges of leadership in a complex world.

 

Professional Journey: From Banking to Boardroom

 

Sir Akinwumi’s professional career began at Union Bank Plc, where he gained valuable experience in the Chief Accountant’s Department. His journey then led him to Iddo/International Plastics as Deputy Manager, Planning and Coordination, and later to Michelin Tyres Services Company, where he rose through the ranks to become Senior Manager, Product Advert and Market Intelligence. This role afforded him extensive local and international exposure, sharpening his strategic and marketing expertise.

In 2007, Sir Akinwumi transitioned into entrepreneurship, establishing Celluxpress Nigeria Limited, which thrived in the rapidly growing mobile technology market. By 2014, he expanded into Logistics Consultancy with Transport Services Limited (TSL), demonstrating his ability to adapt and innovate across sectors.

 

Affiliations and Professional Recognition

 

Sir Akinwumi is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Nigeria, affirming his commitment to professional excellence and ethical leadership.

 

Leadership in Community and Nation Building

 

Beyond the boardroom, Sir Akinwumi has been a tireless community leader and a voice for positive change. He served two terms as President of the Gideon’s Army of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and chaired the Building Committee of Jesus Temple Mega Parish, RCCG.

In the political arena, he was an officer in the Presidential Campaign Committee for President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014 and State Coordinator of the National Mandate Group (NMG), a political coalition that mobilized nationwide support for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 elections.

 

Driving Vision and Creativity at LGRhythms Foundation

 

As General Secretary and a member of the Executive Council of LGRhythms Foundation, Sir Akinwumi has played a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s growth and influence. He has served as a two-term Governor, Supervisor, and Pioneer Field Marshal, contributing to structural development and leadership culture.

 

He also chaired the 2022 Convention Committee, edited the Foundation’s magazine for over seven years, and was the creative force behind the design of the organization’s flag, pledge, and updated logo. Notably, he pioneered the Fastest and Best Competition, overseeing its conception, structure, and execution.

He is a proud member of several prestigious social clubs and organizations.
