Meet Otunba Kolade Akinyemi, popularly known as Kolex — fondly remembered by many for his signature phrase, “Iyanu A Shele”. With over 16 years of experience in the banking sector, he steadily rose through the ranks to become Assistant Head of Operations at Wema Bank Plc, where he distinguished himself through diligence, integrity, and leadership.
A well-grounded professional, Kolex’s academic journey reflects his passion for continuous development. He holds an OND in Banking and Finance from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo; a BSc in the same discipline from Lagos State University; and an MSc in International Management from the University of Cumbria, UK. He also holds multiple international certifications, including a UK-accredited Data Analyst qualification and NVQ Level 3, as well as other prestigious certifications from the United States.
Despite his corporate accomplishments, Kolex is a man deeply committed to service. As Empowerment Chairman of LG Rhythms, a leading non-profit organization, he has helped drive a wide range of impactful projects aimed at uplifting communities. Under his leadership, LG Rhythms has:
Established a fully equipped Computer Hub for a secondary school in Agege (2025 project)
Donated solar-powered street lights to the largest market in Ile-Ife (2024)
Installed a solar-powered borehole in Kuro village, Kwara State (2023)
Supplied hospital equipment to Ana Ara Hospital in Ibadan (2022)
This year, he is spearheading a landmark empowerment project — providing substantial financial support to loyal members to help them establish or grow their businesses, reinforcing his belief in grassroots economic development.

A proud co-founder of Youth Alliance for Democracy, Kolex continues to champion causes that promote good governance, social welfare, and community development across Lagos and Nigeria.
