The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) has commenced an internal investigation following allegations that one of its staff members received payments for signage-related services through a personal bank account, contrary to established government financial procedures.
The allegation surfaced in a viral social media post, which prompted swift action from the Agency’s management. LASAA, in an official statement, emphasized that it views the matter with the utmost seriousness and described the alleged act as a clear violation of ethical and financial regulations guiding the operations of the Agency and the Lagos State Civil Service.
According to the statement, and in line with the directive of the Honourable Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, the implicated staff member has been identified and instructed to report at the Agency’s Head Office for immediate questioning and disciplinary proceedings in accordance with Public Service Rules.
“LASAA remains committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all its operations,” the statement read. “The Agency maintains a strict policy that all payments for its services must be made exclusively through officially designated government channels.”
The Agency further commended members of the public for their vigilance in reporting suspicious activities and assured stakeholders that decisive corrective measures will be implemented to safeguard public trust and maintain the integrity of its processes.
LASAA also stated that updates will be provided as the investigation progresses, reaffirming its zero-tolerance stance on misconduct and irregular financial dealings within the organization.
