Tragedy struck in Lagos as a 26-year-old budding interior designer, Deborah Moses, popularly known as Deb’rah Porsche, was brutally murdered by her estranged boyfriend, identified as Lintex Ogale, in what neighbors and family members have described as a premeditated attack.

According to eyewitnesses and preliminary police findings, the incident occurred on Friday when the suspect allegedly disguised himself as a dispatch rider to gain access into Deborah’s residence. When that attempt failed, he reportedly scaled the fence, cut through her gas pipe in an apparent bid to trigger an explosion, before eventually forcing his way inside the apartment.

Inside the residence, Ogale allegedly stabbed Deborah multiple times, leaving her lifeless in a pool of blood. Neighbors who heard the commotion rushed to the scene, overpowered the suspect, and handed him over to security operatives.

Close associates of the victim revealed that Deborah had ended the relationship more than a year ago but had since been subjected to relentless threats from Ogale. He was said to have repeatedly told her, “If I can’t have you, nobody will. If I don’t marry you, blood will flow.”

The young designer, who recently completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, was described by friends and family as ambitious, creative, and full of promise.

Police Confirm Arrest

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the suspect, who is currently in custody. Authorities have assured the public of a thorough investigation, promising that justice will be served.

The killing has sparked widespread outrage among Nigerians, with many rights advocates and gender-based violence activists demanding swift prosecution. Social media has since been flooded with tributes to the late designer, alongside renewed calls for stronger laws and enforcement to protect women from abusive partners.

Deborah’s death adds to the growing statistics of gender-based violence in Nigeria, a scourge many say requires urgent government action, community awareness, and more robust protection mechanisms for vulnerable individuals.
