The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has announced the assumption of office by Commissioner of Police (CP) Dantawaye Miller, as the 34th Commissioner of Police, FCT. He succeeds CP Ajao S. Adewale, who has been redeployed for another strategic assignment by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
CP Miller, a seasoned officer with over 20 years of distinguished service, hails from Kajuru LGA of Kaduna State. He holds degrees in International Studies from Ahmadu Bello University and the University of Ilorin, along with a diploma from Kaduna State Polytechnic.
Since joining the Nigeria Police Force in 2000 as a Cadet ASP, he has held several strategic roles, including:
- Escort Commander to the Vice President and the President of Nigeria
- Chief Security Officer, Ministry of Petroleum
- Assistant Commissioner (CID), Oyo Command
- Deputy Commissioner (Operations) in Yobe and Edo
- Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command
- CP, Information Technology, Force Headquarters, Abuja
He is an alumnus of several key training programs, including Counter-Terrorism Training in Gwoza, Leadership Training in Jos, and VVIP Protection in Israel. CP Miller is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and Rotary International.
Upon assuming duty, CP Miller pledged to enhance community policing, strengthen existing security frameworks, and ensure the safety of all residents across the FCT.
The FCT Police Command urges continued public cooperation in its efforts to maintain peace and security.
