I need to speak directly to those recruiters who are treating the job market like a content farm, especially on platforms like LinkedIn.
If you are a Human Resources professional or a recruiter, you need to understand one thing: The job search is not a game for impressions.
If you are genuinely hiring, you have a professional duty to provide full details. We are tired of seeing posts that say: “Comment ‘Interested’ and I’ll check your profile.” What exactly does that mean? It’s pure noise designed to get views, not to hire talent.
What Real Job Posts Must Contain
If you are serious about recruitment, these four details are mandatory. No excuses:
-Official Email: A proper, verifiable company email contact.
-Job Location: Clearly state where the job is (Lagos, Abuja, Remote, etc.).
-Job Description (JD): Give us the scope of work. What are we applying for?
-Salary (CTC): Be transparent about the pay. Stop wasting people’s time.
The Problem This Practice Highlights
This poor standard shows two major issues in the employment space:
-Recruiters: Some HR staff are using LinkedIn simply to boost their page views and engagement, treating people’s desperation as free content.
-Job Seekers: Many candidates are blindly commenting “Interested” out of panic instead of making a strategic move.
We must stop this cycle. HR is about integrity and people, not engagement metrics.
A Message to Job Seekers
Please, stop commenting “Interested” without substance. Every time you engage with a fake post, you encourage more of them.
When you see a genuine opportunity, tell your story. Share your value. Make the recruiter want to chase you, not the other way around.
IMPORTANT WARNING: BEWARE OF SCAMMERS
This is extremely important: DO NOT PAY MONEY TO ANYONE FOR A JOB OFFER. I repeat, do not pay any fees, registration costs, or processing money to any person promising you a job. It is a scam, 100% of the time.
What is the worst example of a vague or fake job post you have seen recently?
Let’s discuss below!
