Osogbo, Osun State – In a gesture of commitment to education and youth development, the Executive Chairman of Offa Local Government Council, Hon. Suleiman Olatunji Omituntun, paid a heartfelt visit to twenty-eight (28) Offa-born students currently benefitting from his administration’s scholarship scheme at the Olubunmi School of Health Science, Osogbo.
The visit, which took place at the institution’s main campus, was both inspiring and reassuring for the beneficiaries, who are enrolled in critical health-related fields such as Public Health, Community Health, Environmental Health, and Health Information Management.
Hon. Omituntun, warmly received by the students and school management, used the opportunity to interact personally with each scholar, assess their academic welfare, and offer words of encouragement. He emphasized the importance of education as a powerful tool for transformation, reminding the students that they represent the hope and future of Offa’s healthcare system.
“You are not just students here; you are ambassadors of Offa and the future of our healthcare system,” the council boss stated. “This scholarship is a responsibility. It is my belief that with discipline, hard work, and integrity, you will not only excel academically but also return to uplift your communities.”
He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering support for educational initiatives, describing the scholarship programme as a deliberate investment in human capital development. According to Hon. Omituntun, the ultimate goal is to raise a generation of competent, compassionate, and community-oriented healthcare professionals.
In their remarks, the students expressed deep appreciation for the scholarship, noting that it had significantly eased their financial burdens and allowed them to focus on their studies without distraction. Many described the gesture as life-changing, praising Hon. Omituntun for his visionary leadership and genuine concern for the younger generation.
Representatives of the Olubunmi School of Health Science also lauded the council chairman for his continuous support. The management commended him for his hands-on approach and dedication to empowering youth through practical and sustainable interventions.
