Senator Biodun Olujimi—former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and ex‑Senate Minority Leader—asserted during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme that Peter Obi’s rhetoric in the 2023 presidential election will not be enough to challenge President Tinubu in 2027.

 

She emphasized that Tinubu is a “dyed‑in‑the‑wool politician” with deep-rooted political networks and extensive experience, describing the prospect of unseating him as an “uphill task”.

 

About her defection from PDP to APC, Olujimi stated she was motivated by what she saw as a more pragmatic and resolute leadership in the current APC—a departure from her past criticisms of the party
