WAFCON 2024: Super Falcons send message to South Africa’s Gabriela Salgado after victory

Super Falcons have sent a message to South Africa’s Gabriela Salgado following both sides’ 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON, semi-final encounter on Tuesday evening.

Recall that Salgado sustained a serious leg injury during Nigeria’s 2-1 victory against South Africa at the Stade Larbi Zaouli.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade and Mitchelle Alozie gave Nigeria the victory against Banyana Banyana.

However, in a post via the Super Falcons’ official X account after the game, they wished Salgado a quick recovery.

“We wish South Africa’s Gabriela Salgado a swift and full recovery,” Super Falcons tweeted after the game.

“Health comes first. Strength to you, Gabriela.”

The Super Falcons will now face Morocco in the WAFCON final this weekend.

Recall that the host nation had defeated Ghana in the other semi-final tie via a p

enalty shootout.
