Lagos, Nigeria — In a bold move to combat the growing menace of drug addiction among Nigerian youth, a powerful youth-focused conference themed “Say No to Drug Addiction and Abuse” is set to hold on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 10:00AM at Rockview Hotel, Festac, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.
This highly anticipated event aims to enlighten, empower, and mobilize young people to reject the scourge of drug misuse and take charge of their destinies. Organizers say the conference is more than an event — it is a movement designed to protect the future of Nigeria by educating young minds and encouraging communities to act.
Speaking ahead of the conference, the convener Hon Amb Chibuzo Patrick Osigwe, emphasized the urgency of the mission:
> “Drug abuse is a silent thief. It sneaks in quietly, devours destinies, and leaves devastation in its wake. We can no longer be silent or comfortable in our ignorance. This is not just about loving me or loving a cause — it’s about humanity.”
With a lineup of passionate speakers, former addicts turned advocates, health experts, youth leaders, and faith-based voices, the conference will address the psychological, social, and spiritual consequences of drug use, while offering hope, support networks, and practical steps to prevention and recovery.
The campaign has seen weeks of awareness broadcasts and community engagements aimed at reaching young people both in and outside formal education settings. The organizers are calling on parents, educators, religious leaders, and influencers to be part of the solution.
“Even when you get no direct benefit, do it for the next generation,” the statement continues. “We are all pencils in the hand of God. This is a call to stand and be counted.”
Admission is free and open to all youth and community members.
