Think-thank groups, League of South East Professionals (LSEP) and Nigerian Youths Initiative (NYI) has pleaded with Chief CBN Onwusoanya Ezendigbo to join Nigeria 2027 Presidential race.

The groups whose membership are drawn from the six geopolitical zone states of Nigeria, described Onwusoanya Ezendigbo as the man possessed with the needed capacity to salvage the country from its present woes if elected as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The southeast groups made the call in a communique issued at the end of joint meeting which took place on Monday in Enugu.

The communique was signed by the LSEP President, Surveyor Samuel Aguiyi, and the NYI Coordinator, Comrade Chinedu Emeruwa respectively.

Adducing the rationale behind their unanimous call on Dr Onwusoanya Ezendigbo to join the forthcoming Nigeria presidential race, the socio-cultural and political groups regretted the abysmal failure of successive administrations controlled by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress(APC) in the country to implement policies to solving the myriads of challenges hindering Nigeria’s socio-economic and infrastructural growths in the last twenty-five years.

The groups particularly regretted that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration economic policies have inflicted unprecedented hardship, with rising poverty, insecurity, and wanton killings plaguing the nation.

“We frown the high poverty level in Nigeria. The country has the largest population living below extreme poverty line in 2024 in Africa. This ugly trend is not a gold medal Nigerians should be proud about,”the groups lamented.

League of South East Professionals and Nigerian Youths Initiative insisted that Chief CBN Onwusoanya Ezendigbo has the magic wand to restore the country on path of economic greatness and infrastructural growths which the citizens yearns for as he had development-oriented and visionary template to achieve it when he emerge as next President of Nigeria.

The groups vowed to mobilize supports across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria to ensure the emergence of Onwusoanya Ezendigbo as President Tinubu’s successor should he heed to the clarion call and appeal to contest Nigeria presidential seat poll billed for 2027.

Describing Chief Onwusoanya Ezendigbo as a true Democrat whose passion for a workable Nigeria cannot be overemphasized, admonishing the citizens to join the ongoing crusade by patriots and lovers of democracy to rescue the country from the clutches of democratic misrule foisted by the present political class.
