Lagos, Nigeria – July 15, 2025 — The Group Chairman of Adron Homes and Properties, Sir Aare Adetola Emmanuelking, KOF, has joined the multitude of voices mourning the passing of the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona. In a heartfelt tribute, he described the monarch’s death as “the end of an era and the ascent of a legend into immortality.”

Oba Adetona passed away on July 1, 2025, at the age of 91, after a historic 65-year reign—making him one of Nigeria’s longest-reigning and most revered traditional rulers.

In his condolence message, Aare Emmanuelking extolled the virtues of the late monarch, portraying him as a “towering symbol of identity, unity, and pride” for both the Ijebu people and the Yoruba nation at large.

“His Royal Majesty reigned not merely by the sceptre, but by the rare power of vision, intellect, and integrity,” Aare Emmanuelking stated. “He embodied royalty in its purest form—not as a relic of the past, but as a living force that shaped the present and laid the foundation for the future.”

He noted that the Awujale’s reign was marked by transformative leadership, under which Ijebuland experienced cultural rejuvenation, socio-economic development, and political stability. “To be Ijebu was to be proud. To serve Ijebu was to be honourable. To be under his reign was to witness greatness firsthand,” he added.

Offering his condolences to the royal family and the entire Ijebu community, Aare Emmanuelking urged the people to take pride in the legacy left behind by their iconic monarch. “Now, the lion sleeps, but his roar shall echo in eternity,” he remarked.

He concluded by praying for the peaceful repose of Oba Adetona’s soul and expressed hope that the late monarch’s legacy would continue to inspire generations to come.
