The Lagos State Council Chairmen’s Wives Association (LASCCWA) led by its President, Dr. Mrs. Kehinde Olushola Razaq Ajala today berthed at Ibeju-Lekki Local Government for its meeting and empowerment programme, co-hosted by the Chairpersons of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and Lekki Local Council Development Area, Mrs. Jemila Olowa and Mrs. Ramat Bola Kasali.
In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa thanked the eminent personalities for supporting their husbands and making their jobs easier. While describing them as “The Rock of Gibraltar”, Hon. Olowa termed the supporting wives as the salt of the earth whose prayers have been an energizing factor. He appreciated them for their impressive manner in organizing themselves despite being the third tier of Government.
Hon. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, the Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, thanked God Almighty for the gift of life while appreciating the womenfolk. The Council boss, who eulogized the association for their acts of cooperation, offered prayers of supplication for higher realms in life for them.
Members of the Association proceeded to empower citizens of Ibeju-Lekki LGA and Lekki LCDA with grinding machines, sewing machines, makeup kits and cashcash.
The Lagos State Council Chairmen’s Wives Association (LASCCWA) is a forum for Chairpersons to complement the roles of Chairmen, to raise support and awareness for critical issues, assist women and children, to also help members of the association to play their roles optimally, while also strengthening and developing relationships between communities.
