Troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Hadin Kai have apprehended a suspected terrorist logistics supplier along with 21 accomplices in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to counter-terrorism journalist Zagazola Makama, the suspects were intercepted while transporting a large consignment of smoked fish believed to be linked to insurgent financing.

The arrest occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Checkpoint 2 in Mafa, where troops of the 112 Task Force Battalion under the 24 Task Force Brigade stopped two Isuzu trucks carrying 59 cartons and 28 sacks of smoked fish.

The main suspect, identified as 40-year-old Ibrahim Bukar, confessed during preliminary interrogation that the fish was handed over to them in Laje village by terrorists. He also admitted to supplying various items to insurgents over time. Hybrid forces confirmed his identity, stating that he previously served as a supplier while operating in the bushes.
