The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has announced a scheduled 25-day power outage across parts of Lagos State. According to a public notice issued on Friday, July 26, 2025, the blackout will begin on Monday, July 29 and continue until Thursday, August 22, 2025, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.

The electricity distributor explained that the planned outage is due to critical maintenance work being carried out by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on the Omotosho-Ikeja West 330kV transmission line.

Eko DisCo said the maintenance is necessary to ensure improved power supply and network stability in the long run. However, during the period of the work, customers will experience daily disruptions and load shedding.

The company appealed to customers for understanding and patience, assuring them that efforts are being made to minimize the impact.
